The Ponderosa West Grass Valley Extension Project is a strategic wildfire hazard reduction initiative to reduce fuels, restore forest health, and protect communities withing the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI). This treatment included approximately 700 acres of private and County-owned lands and over 300 acres of fuel break north of State Route 20 near the community of Rough and Ready.
