Approximately 500 Nevada County 2nd and 3rd graders will attend Truckee Farm Day 2026 on June 3rd, at the Truckee High School Campus.

​As you probably already know, Farm Day isn’t just about​ animals, fruits, & vegetables. It’s about how important water is to all facets of agriculture. How trees become lumber and paper products, how spinning fibers from animal wool makes clothes, and how bats help farmers with their crops. It’s about the importance of insects and pollination, saving seeds, worms, and soil and so much more!

NCRCD partners and volunteers from all over Nevada County will gather for a fun-packed Truckee Farm Day in Truckee for all Tahoe/Truckee School District 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms. The students will have the opportunity to particate in many aspects of agriculture through games, presentations, hands-on activities and more.

Nevada County Ag In The Classroom partners include NCRCD, Nevada County Farm Bureau, Placer Nevada Cattlewomen,  USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service, Nevada County Agricultural Commissioner, California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom, Sierra Foothills Research and Extension Center, and Sierra Harvest. We are very grateful that there are so many local volunteers from our community that have generously donated thier valuable time.

We hope you will make time to allow us to share our unique perspective on agriculture with your children at the upcoming Truckee Farm Day. It’s a wonderful place for little eyes, hands, and minds!
