Invasive Species

May contain: leaf, plant, ivy, and tree

Non-native invasive plants are aggressive plants that have been introduced into an environment outside of their natural range and threaten native species. Not all non-native weeds are invasive, but some have been designated as noxious by the State of California, thereby requiring weed control efforts by property owners. Many invasive plants have already established populations in various regions of California and occur in different stages of the invasion process. California Invaders

The Invasive Species Program has identified numerous actual and potential invasive species from which we strive to protect California’s wildlands and waterways. Many invaders have already established populations in various regions of California and occur in different stages of the invasion process.
