Advisory Visit Program
The Advisory Visit Program (AVP) offers personalized, science-based, land management advice to Nevada and western-Sierra County landowners. This program provides you with guidance, links to great conservation information, and the tools to aid you in the successful management of your property. We offer contact information of many local and regional professionals when you need a little help with the work. Our specialist (a local expert with 40+ years’ experience in the conservation field) will visit your property with you and provide personalized advice on the issues you’re encountering on your property. After our visit, we will mail you a hard-copy summary of your visit along with detailed documents on the topics you discussed.

We utilize the knowledge of accredited personnel from several federal and state agencies. Chief among these agencies is the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Other agencies include the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Department of Fish and Game, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and other state departments in forestry, agriculture, recreation, etc.
We enjoy helping landowners with questions about their land and its uses and/or issues. If we are unable to answer a specific question, we help in finding the experts who can.
Advisory site visits are for informational purposes only. The NCRCD does not guarantee the results of any recommendations made during or following a visit. Landowners are encouraged to verify findings for themselves prior to implementing recommendations.
