Annual Farm Day

We are excited to announce that on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, Nevada County Ag in the Classroom will host their 5th Annual Farm Day at the Nevada County Fairgrounds!  This event is open to all 2nd & 3rd graders in Nevada County.

As most of you know, Farm Day isn't about simply teaching children about animals, fruits, & vegetables.  It’s also teaching them how important water is to all facets of agriculture.  It’s about turning trees into lumber and paper products, spinning fibers from animal’s wool to make clothes, and how bats help farmers with their crops.  It’s about dogs herding livestock and the ways to keep livestock healthy.  By exposing our children to these different experiences, their comprehension of the world that surrounds them expands greatly.

I kindly invite you to consider bringing your class to Farm Day.  We realize your time is valuable, but we hope you can make the time to allow us to share our unique perspective on agriculture with our children at Farm Day.  It’s a wonderful place for little eyes, hands, and minds!

Our 2018 Farm Day was made possible by the Nevada County Ag in the Classroom participants, the Nevada County Fairgrounds, and generous donations from these LOCAL businesses & organizations:
